Deals this week...

I can't believe it's Wednesday already! I've been swamped this week and apologize for not posting sooner.

There are a few great deals going on this week and a few that are continued from last week as "monthly deals."

So what is Walgreens offering this week?

1. Playtex Gloves - In Walgreens weekly ad, there is a coupon to get them for $0.99
Use: $1.00 coupons from the 6/28 SS or the 5/3 SS - If you have coupons that go that far back = free

2. Campbells Tomato or Chicken Noodle Soup. There is a coupon in this weeks ad for 2/$1.00
If you click HERE you'll get a coupon for $1.00 off 2! Which means they're free! (don't forget to hit your back button to print the coupon twice!)

3. Trident Xtra Care or Layers gum - Current Price: 2/$2.00 - When you buy 2 packs get $1.00 RR - Use two $0.75 coupons you can print HERE to get them for free + $0.25 overage!

Ok, so what are the monthly deals?

1. Fresh Effects Chapstick - see last week's post

2. Crest Baking Soda & Peroxide Toothpaste 2/$4.00 - get $2.00 RR back
- Coupon: $1.00 off one in 9/27 P&G

3. Demtek Floss - see last week's post

4. Emergen-C Immune Boost or Energy Boost - see last week's post

5. Gilette Fusion MVP Manual or Power Razor - see last week's post

6. Halls Refresh Cough Drops - see last week's post

7. Robitussin to go - 2 count - see last week's post

8. Vaseline Sheer infusion lotion - see last weeks post.

Don't forget that your RR's have expiration dates - Use them before Midnight of the date they expire or it's just like tossing money down the drain!

On a side note: This past week there was a high priced Snuggle coupon $3.00 off one. I've heard that Dollar General has Snuggle dryer sheets for $3.00 and if they accept coupons that would make them free! (I will be testing this out tomorrow and will let you know if it works)

In the Land of Free...

This week is AWESOME when it comes to deals...and especially FREE deals.

I'm not sure what is going on with Walgreens but man alive, they are just giving stuff away - and I'm loving it! I went to three different walgreen's yesterday (I pass 3 on my way home from work) and all of them had these deals...though in some stores, products were sparce. The ones in pink are the ones I've actually picked up - though by the end of the week, I'll hopefully have lots of all of them!

This week you can get the following items for FREE at Walgreens:

1. Chapstick Fresh Effects - Sale $2.99 - get $3.00 RR back! = FREE

2. Dentek Floss - Sale $2.00 - get $2.00 RR back! = FREE

3. Emergen-C Booster - Sale $3.49 - Get $3.50 RR back! = FREE

4. Gillette Fusion MVP Manual or Power Razor - Sale $8.99 - get $6.00 RR Back!
Use the $4 coupon that came in the P&G insert in this past Sunday's paper and the deal is a money maker! Sale $8.99 - $4.00 coupon = $4.99 - Get $6.00 back in RR and you just made yourself $1!

5. Halls Refresh Sugar Free Cough Drops - Sale $1.00 - get $1.00 RR back! = FREE
- Note: There is a $0.75 coupon in this past Sundays paper, which makes this a money maker!!

6. Herbal Essence Hair Care - Sale $2.99 - get $2.00 RR back!
Use the $1.00 coupon that came out in the 9/13 or 8/23 red plum Sunday paper insert and suddenly it's free! Sale $2.99 - $1.00 coupon - $1.99 - get $2.00 RR back = FREE

8. Robitussin DM to go 2-pack - Sale $2.49 - get $2.50 back! = FREE

9. Theraflu - Sale 2/$8 - get $4.00 RR back. Use the $2.00 off 1 coupon in the Healthy Savings Book and the register will automatically take $4.00 off (because you're buying 2) and suddenly the deal looks like this: Sale 2/$8 - $4.00 coupon = $4.00 - get $4.00 RR back = FREE

10. Vaseline Sheer Infusions Lotion 6.8 oz - Sale $6.99 - get $7.00 RR back! = FREE

So now that you know what is free...what is the best method to pay as little out of pocket as possible and get the best results? Glad you asked.

This is what I'd do...

If you have a cashier that will allow you to use more than one RR in a transaction, then go for it. All three of my cashiers last night allowed me to, but some wont. So ask first. Also if there is a long line, go to the beauty counter to do this or wait until the line dies down so you're not holding the line up - just as a courtesy.

If you don't have any RR from last week do this: If you do, just add your RR's to the first transaction.

Transaction #1
1. Purchase the Vaseline Lotion - Sale $6.99
2. Pay $6.99 + tax (use your RR's from last week here if you have any)
3. Cashier will hand you your receipt + $7.00 RR

Transaction #2
1. Purchase the Robitussin DM - Sale $2.49
2. Purchase the Razor - Sale $8.99
3. Total comes to $11.48
4. Give Cashier $4.00 coupon from Sunday's paper for Razor
5. New total will be $7.48
6. Give Cashier $7.00 RR you just earned
7. Final total will be $0.48 (plus tax)
8. Cashier will give you your receipt plus $2.50 RR for Robitussin + $6.00 RR for Razor

Transaction #3
1. Purchase the Theraflu - Sale 2/$8
2. Purchase the Toothbrush - sale $3.49
3. Total will come to $11.49

Alice

Have any of you heard of the website Alice?

Don't worry, I hadn't either. I stumbled upon her through Sisterly Savings and am smitten by her. And you know it takes a lot for me to be smitten by a website. :)

So what is Alice? Alice is a budget friendly - no time for coupon clipping myself - I want someone else to do the coupon clipping but I want the benefits of coupon clipping - always free shipping website.

Alice is a website that has great deals at the lowest prices available to you. PLUS they'll toss in a coupon to really make your day and knock the price down to an UNBELIEVABLE deal. And then to top it all of, they'll send it all to your door step for FREE. Yep. NO shipping & handling catch here, it's free.

I was parusing the site today and discovered $0.58 Speed Stick deodorant (that's with the coupon they have) and $0.59 Downey Lint and Wrinkle remover spray and so many other good deals. Really the price for the Downey is $1.59 but they have a coupon they found FOR YOU, that they'll apply to your order and drop the price down to $0.59! And that's only 2 of the thousands of deals they offer.

So for those of you who do not have the time or patience to cut coupons but still want to snag a great deal and have it shipped to your door so you don't even have to leave the comfort of your own home...then head on over to Alice and start shopping!

Oh..and go ahead and click on any word Alice and it will take you directly to their website - How easy is that!

Money Maker at Walgreens!

I discovered another deal at Walgreens today that you should take advantage of.

Like Nail Polish? Sally Hansen nail polish isn't just free, they'll pay you to take it off their hands and it's unlimited!

Here's how:

Sally Hansen products are currently on sale for 40% off. Plus there is a Register Reward (RR) type deal going on at the same time.

In the nail polish/make up section you'll find Sally Hansen nail polish for $2.38 (I think). Take 40% off of that - which makes each approx $1.43.

The RR type deal is: If you purchase 2 sally hansen products you'll get $3 to to use on any future Sally Hansen product. If you purchase 3 sally hansen products you'll get $5 to use on a future Sally Hansen product.

So take your three nail polishes to the counter...pay approx. $4.28...and get $5 coupon to use on any future Sally Hansen purchase.

Ok..so what do we do..we do it again. You see the AMAZING thing about this deal is that unlike normal RR, you can roll this one over and over and over and over again...and it will ALWAYS print a new coupon.

So now that you have your first $5 coupon...put the same 3 products into your cart, but this time add a king sized candy bar OR your panty liners as this would be the perfect time to buy them - trust me!

Go to the register...she'll ring them up and it will come to $4.28 + $1.99 (for the panty liners - trust me) for a total of $6.27 plus tax.

Now give her the $5 coupon you just got for Sally Hansen...your new total will be $1.27.
Pay her the $1.27 plus tax and not only will ANOTHER $5 Sally Hansen coupon print out, but a $2.00 RR will print too! So you'll pay $1.27 and get $7 to use on a future purchase.

And then what do you do? Do the whole scenario again but instead of the panty liners you get the Therma-Care heat pad...and you keep doing this until you have your years supply of nail polish or nail items. Now remember...if you get something that is more expensive you will be paying MORE than $5 for your 3 products but will still get your $5 coupon..so it wont be free any longer but worth it.

And after the 26th the $5 Sally Hansen coupon will no longer spit out so it will be at that point, spending your last $5 coupon on something you really wanted to try, like the nail polish pens.

Happy Shopping and stock up.

Tip: Put your nail polish in the fridge and it wont separate as quickly.

Have you stocked up?

Update: I went to three walgreens today and NONE of them had the Triaminic sale any longer (2/$10). They still had the $5 rebate when you buy 2 but they are now regular priced at $6.99 each. So now they are $14 - $4 coupon = $10 then get $5.00 back. So each box is now $2.50..which is STILL a good deal. It must have been a fluke that that one walgreens had the deal still.

Cold season is here and once again it's time to stock up on meds.

If you have kids, this is one post you MUST read.

Last week, I heard about the Triaminic deal happening at Walgreens and stocked up. This week as I was shopping I saw a sign next to the Triaminic that said it was an ongoing deal until the 26th!

I know this is last minute as the deal expires in 2 days but it's an AWESOME deal.

Triaminic is on sale right now 2/$10 (two for $10). And if you purchase 2, then you get a $5 RR (register reward) back. So really that makes the deal 2/$5 after RR. Now that in and of itself is a pretty good deal.

BUT WAIT..it gets better (of course!)

Somewhere at your local walgreens is a book floating around called "Healthy Savings to help you Stay Healthy - All Season Long" and then it says "over $30 in Savings inside!" Go find this book!

If you open the book up there is a $2 coupon for any triaminic product...since you are buying 2 products the coupon suddenly becomes $4 - Are you catching on yet?

So here is how it works: (I'll help you snag a few more deals since you'll already be there so listen up!
1. Go to your local WAGS (walgreens) put two triaminics in your cart (I personally like the disolving strips)
2. Go to the Tampon/Pad isle and get a 16 pack Carefree panty liners (in the light pink packaging) which are on sale for $1.99 but normally $3.29 i think - Just trust me!
3. Go to the meds section again and look for the Therma-Care single pack heat wrap (just get the trail/1 pack) - Should be $2.49 on sale - Again trust me.
4. Go to the candy isle and snag 3 packs of tic tacs which are on clearance for $0.25 each! (or something that equals approximately $0.75)

5. Get in line for check out.go up to the counter.
6. When your turn arrives, ask the cashier tell her you'll be breaking your purchases into two transactions and smile.
7. Put ONLY your 2 triaminics on the counter.
8. She'll ring them up for $5.00 each - on sale. Your total will come to $10.
9. Let her ring up the Triaminic coupon from the coupon book I referred to earlier.
10. This will now bring your order to $6.00 (and maybe tax too)
11. Pay her for your transactions.
12. When she gives you your receipt, she'll also hand you a $5.00 RR - woo hoo!

13. Put the rest of your items on the counter (pantyliners, tic tacs and therma-care)
14. She'll ring these up and the price will come to $5.23 (plus tax)
15. GIVE her your $5 RR you just got!
16. Your new total will come to $0.23 (plus tax). Pay it.
17. She will then give you your receipt and 2 MORE register rewards! - She'll hand you $2.00 RR for the Pantyliners (deal ends on 26th) AND she'll hand you a $2.50 RR for the Thermacare (deal ends on 26th).

Then go home and save your RR's for next week's deals.

So here is the final break down.

You'll get: 2 triaminic cold or allergy meds, 1 pantyliner, 1 Therma-care and 3 packs of tic tacs for $6.23 out of pocket (OOP) plus tax.

And you'll walk away with $4.50 in register rewards to use during your next purchase.

So the true total for all your good is $1.73 plus tax.

Sounds good to me!

Happy Shopping!

Back in Full Swing

Time to dust off this old blog and get it back into shape. I've been back for a month now and have now collected enough coupons to really get back into the swing of things.

In addition, I've had several people express interest in another series of coupon classes. If you too are interested, please leave a note and I'll include you in all emails regarding said classes and put you on my latest coupon tips emails from now until then.

For those who have taken my 4 part series coupon classes, you are not getting the tips emails any longer as you know how the game works. If though, you'd like to be included, just let me know.

In addition to the tips emails and the classes that are being talked about I am preparing to take my couponing in a new direction.

There have been a few people recently, who have expressed interest in purchasing from my inventory. This of course makes me SUPER happy. Because I get to do what I love (save money & hunt down the deals) and YOU get to snag an awesome deal without all the hassle of couponing or driving around from store to store snagging the deals. I get a deal, you get a deal - everyone wins! Plus the awesome thing about this is A) you don't pay shipping & handling (unless you live out of state of course). B) you don't pay tax and C) You are buying from a trustworthy person.

Plus as an added bonus, you will get a warm fuzzy every time you purchase from us because you will know that you are helping to support the Heath Family Education Fund! 50% of all proceeds will go to that fund AND 10% of every deal will go to the Lord! You really can't do better than that! The other 40% will be reinvested into the inventory!

So how will this work? I'm still toying with the idea, but I think I'll have a continual list on this blog listing the items, how many I have and the price I am selling them at. I will also have the Wal-mart price listed as well, so you know what kind of deal you're really getting.

This may or may not actually be of interest to many of you, but if it is, let me know and I'll be happy to assist in any way possible. Thus far, we've not had to take out a loan for Ben's schooling and we hope it stays that way. UNF just raised tuition prices and so anything extra would be great!

Thanks for your support and continue to check back often for the latest and greatest deals. I will also be posting gift cards and other items up for sale that Ben and I have received but cannot use at this time.

Happy Shopping!

Cheapest Gift You'll Ever Give

Thanks from a tip from my friend Bethany in Utah, I am the new proud owner of (5) of these babies and (5) 8" square brownie ones too (10 total)! If you don't mine purple Pyrex then you'll flip for this deal.

Shop World Kitchen has these on deal right now. Pyrex 9 x 13 Amethyst baking dish is currently on sale for $1.99 each! The matching Pyrex 8x8 Amethyst baking dish is ALSO $1.99 each!

PLUS if you use coupon code: A20502 then you too can get 20% off your entire order!

So if you are anything like me, a squirrel who finds deals, stocks up, and then uses them when the right moment comes then you'll want to take advantage. (or if you need some for you - then that works too). What a great wedding gift. Give the bride and groom one of each and you've just spent a whopping $3.98 on them and they'll never know! Happy Shopping!
