I’ve read part or all of all of these books and they are great. If nothing else, I recommend that you go download them all and save them for future reference as they will only be available online for free for a short time. A lot of people aren’t aware that books like these even exist, much less that they are available for free.

Follow Up

Few things for those who attended class last night that I neglected to mention...Can you believe there is STILL MORE TO TALK ABOUT?!

1. Medication - Did you know that A LOT of drug companies post coupons on their website? Yep. If you have any medications, allergies or creams that you need to use - check out the company's website and see if they offer a coupon!

I once had to get a cream for a rash I had. My Dr. Prescribed me a perscription cream which I promptly went to get. When I got home, I looked up the company's website to read up on that particular cream and lo and behold there was a $10 off coupon for it!

So check to see if there are extra savings out there that you don't even know about!

2. Bargain! Did you know that you can bargain for just about anything? When was the last time you walked into Best Buy and negociated a price for that Big Screen TV? Did you know you could?

Just about all retailers will negociate wtih you as long as it's reasonable. All you have to do is ask. Generally the guy behind the counter or walking the store doesn't have that kind of power. Just ask to speak with his manager or ask him to consult with his manager about a price.

My husband worked at Best Buy last year for the Holidays. A co-worker told him of an incident that happened to him. A guy walked into the store promptly told the customer service person what TV he wanted and then said "I'll pay you $1750 for that TV." The TV was listed at $2200. (or roughly thereabout) The worker was shocked. He'd never had anyone try to negociate a deal. So he went and found his manager to seek help. The manager looked up on the computer how much the TV had been for sale for the last 4 weeks. And sure enough 4 weeks ago the TV WAS actually for sale for $1750. So the manager told the customer - You've got yourself a deal!

The guy left happy that he just saved $550 on his TV and the manager was ok with it because just a few weeks ago they were actually selling that TV for that price.

Most retailers will honor a 30 day price guarentee. If they sell your item for cheaper within 30 days after you buy it, you can get the different back! But what we didn't know is that sometimes you can do it for the preivous 30 days too!

So if you want a high ticket item and it goes on sale but you don't have the funds...ask the next time your in the store for the sale price that you missed!

Attention Class One Shoppers

HOLY COW...Can I say that one more time - HOLY COW!!  

Do you realize that there were approximately 65 - 70 in attendance for our FIRST COUPON CLASS?!  There were so many of you that we ran out of seats and for those that came in late, I'm not even sure you signed the sign in sheet!   For those of you who were chillin' in the hallway, I'm so sorry about that but glad you came!  

Our next class (next thursday) will be in the primary room which is the LARGEST room in the building excluding the chapel and cultural hall.  I mean who wants to meet in a gym really?

So, now that this pathetic blog is going to get an onslaught of readers, I have to tell you that I'll be gone for a few days.  I'll be in ID for a funeral (actually leaving Friday Morning) and am not sure how much computer access I'll have.

Don't forget to get the Sunday Paper this MONDAY and start collecting your coupons.  These will be VITAL for our next couple of classes.  I promise that by the time class 3 & 4 hit you'll want to have a few weeks of coupons ready to go.

WholeSale Clubs

Do you belong to one of the many infamous wholesale clubs that exist these days? The three located here locally are: Sams, Costco & BJ's.

For years, Ben and I have belonged to Sams Club. There are several locations and always have great deals for bulk purchasing.

About a year ago, we got wind that BJ's isn't just a wholesale club but it is the ONLY wholesale club that accepts COUPONS! Yep, you read that correctly - they accept COUPONS! Unfortunately, we had just renewed our membership with Sams when we heard it and didn't want to belong to two different wholesale clubs.

So a few weeks ago, our membership at Sams expired again and off we went to join BJ's. I pumped the girl at the service desk pretty hard about their coupon policy and wanted to share with you what I've learned.

There are two locations in town. One in Orange Park and one on Baymeadows & Philips Hwy.

They themselves put out a coupon book every month. As a member these coupon books will be mailed to you each month. In addition to those coupon books, when you walk in the door, there is also a table with additional coupons on it and they have coupons on their website you can print too! And they even have some internet only deals!

So here is the policy from their website:

Can I use coupons?
Absolutely! BJ’s accepts all manufacturers’ coupons — including the ones that come in your Sunday newspaper — giving you additional savings on top of our everyday low prices. Plus, we offer BJ’s Members-only coupons throughout the year. After all, saving you money is what BJ’s is all about.

You can get your exclusive BJ’s coupons:

• Online. To access and print online coupons, you will need to activate your Profile by creating a Password.
• In BJ’s Journal, a BJ’s Member magazine
• Through special-offer mailings
• In BJ’s in-Club coupon flyers

Can I use more than one coupon?
You may not use more than one coupon on a single item. However, if you buy a multi-pack (a pack that contains multiple full-sized packages of a single product shrink-wrapped together) you may use multiple coupons.

For example, if you have 2 coupons for 50% off an 8-oz. bottle of face cleanser and you are buying a multi-pack that contains 2 or more 8-oz. bottles of face cleanser you may use both coupons.

What they neglect to tell you is that you can also stack coupons! You can use a BJ's coupon along with manufacture coupons! Woo Hoo!

For example. Ben needed Zyrtec. So I grabbed the item off the shelf. The item was the same price as it was at Sam's Club - $31.99

I used the $5.00 BJ's coupon from their booklet. New Price: $26.99

Then becuase there were TWO bottles of Zyrtec in the package, I could use 2 manu. coupons. The coupons I used were $4/1 each! So that was an additional $8 off! New Price: $18.99!!

So just for shopping at BJ's vs. Sam's Club I saved an EXTRA $13.00!!

Not bad since buying it at Walgreens at regular price is $50 for the two bottles!!

The price to Join BJ's is $45 - which is $10 more than Sam's (I think) and the same price as Costco.

But when you join, you then get a $10 off anything coupon - similar to an RR or ECB! So when you take that into account, you really only paid $35 which is the same as a Sam's membership!

So I took my $10 coupon and applied it to my Zyrtec and walked out paying $8.75!

BJ's stores are clean, open and friendly. They also have self check out and what seems to be shorter lines than Sam's but that is still up for debate.

If you've not joined yet and aren't sure you want to, then swing by for a FREE 30 or 60 day pass! Try them out for free while nabbing a few great deals in the mean time!

ALERT! ALERT!

There are a few things, that others have passed along to me that are worth sharing with my one reader. :)

1. Walgreens in Cedar Hills (Blanding & Wilson)

This location is no longer coupon customer friendly. A friend called me last night and has informed me that the manager at that location is no longer allowing customers to use more than ONE, yes ONE register reward per day. NOT per transaction, but PER DAY. That's just ridiculous!

So, if you frequent this particular Walgreens, don't bother going. My friend said that she was told by two employees that the manager has signs posted all over the breakroom and required all employees to sign a form stating that they understood and agreed to follow this new policy.

Seeing as how I'm a multi-RR per transaction kind of shopper, I'll no longer be frequenting this location. If you notice this same treatment at other locations, please let me know and I'll post it.

2. Sunday Paper.

Every year, multiple times a year, the Florida Times Union does $1 SPECIALS! Right now, is that lucky time! If you call the Florida Times Union (904) 359-4255 and request the $1 Sunday special - you'll get it! That's 50% off the price at the store! Even on Monday's I still pay $2.00 per paper! Now I can get 4 papers for the price of 2 at the store! You can choose the length of delivery (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year etc.) and will have to pay up front for your papers.

So I took off for Dollar General last night to see if they really did have the Snuggle Fabric Softener Sheets (dryer sheets) for $3.00 - and sure enough they did!

So I decided to see what else they might have...

I scored:

3 boxes of Snuggle Fabric Softener Sheets @ $3.00 each

4 bags of Pedegree MarrowBone Treats (?) @ $1.50 each

Total: $15.00 + 7% tax = $16.05

Then I headed over to Walgreens. While there I discovered a deal that I've not yet told you about (probably because I didn't know about it either!)

Last week (or the week before), there was a coupon in the paper for $0.75 off any Reynolds Tin Foil

I tried to use another RR but I'd already maxed out my alloted # of coupons and there was a really long line so I didn't want to stall any longer - this is generally where a candy bar or cheap item like a pencil comes into play which then allows you to use more RR's to bring the OOP price down.

Total OOP for the Entire Evening: $5.69.
