So tonight, I purchased all of this PLUS two shirts for Ben at Kmart. Also I need to give mad props to my friend Angela who was an ANGEL that showed up at exactly the right time. Unfortunately the computer FROZE at Kmart when I only had 6 coupons left! It was sooooo frustrating. Walgreens This Week!!

Ok my coupon friends, This week is a great starter week!  New to coupons?  Did you get the Sunday paper - If you did then that's all you need to make THIS WEEK happen! 

At Walgreens Pert Plus is on sale for $3.49!  And Theraflu is on sale for $4.99 each.

Step 1: 

If you got this weeks Sunday Paper then pull out the Smart Source and flip through it.  Eventually you'll come to three coupons.  Coupon #1 will be $2.00 off any Pert Plus, coupon #2 will be $2.00 off any Theraflu and coupon #3 will be right next to the Theraflu coupon as it will be a Theraflu rebate!  Clip these out and head to your nearest Walgreens!

Step 2:

Walk into the store.  Grab a basket and proceed to drop 1 Pert Plus Shampoo, (the kind in the picture above), 3 Theraflu's (your choice) and 1 Alka Seltzer Plus Cold 20 count ORIGINAL flavor (deal only works with original flavor).

Step 3: 

Get in line and once it's your turn - greet your cashier with a friendly Hello! How are you?! Then ask: Do you mind if I break up my purchase into TWO transactions?!  She'll of course say, no that's ok!

Step 4:

Put your Alka Seltzer on the counter (ONLY YOUR ALKA SELTZER)  This will ring up to $4.99 (plus tax).

Step 5: 

Pay for your purchase with either cash, credit, debit or gift card.  If your SUPER LUCKY and have a Register Reward saved up from last week, then use that!

Step 6:

She'll give you your receipt AND a Register Reward (coupon) for $5.00!!  

Step 7:

Put the remaining items on the counter and allow him or her to ring them up.  They should ring up to $18.46 (plus tax).

Step 8:  

In the Walgreen's Easy Saver Catalogue that is located at the front of the store by the newspaper ads, you'll find a coupon for $2.50 off ANY Pert Plus.  Show her the coupon and she'll type the code into the computer.  Your total will now be $15.96 (plus tax).

Step 9:

Give her your $2.00 off Pert Plus Coupon (which will give you $1.00 overage!! - If you wanted to, you could get TWO bottles of pert plus and will break even on the deal!)  Your total is now $13.96

Step 10:

Now give your cashier your $2.00 off Theraflu coupon. (if you get more than one paper, give her up to 3 coupons - but we'll pretend that we only got one paper = one coupon).  Your total will now be $11.96

Step 11:

Give the cashier the $5.00 Register Reward she gave you just a moment before for the Alka Seltzer.  Your total will now be $6.96

Step 12:

Pay $6.96 with cash, credit, debit, gift card or another Register Reward you earned from last week!

Step 13:

The cashier will give you your receipt PLUS a Register Reward for $8.00 off your next order!!

I know your saying to yourself - So that's it right? Because so far, I'm (you) not getting anything for free, and aren't you (me) suppose to show me (you) some type of way to get stuff for free?

So lets break this down old school style:

Free Worcestershire Sauce!

Did any of you catch the coupon for FREE Worcestershire sauce in the 10/5 paper?

If you happened to skip over it - go back and find it! Frenches Worcestershire sauce is FREE with coupon! When I saw this coupon, I had to read it SEVERAL times as it's worded really odd. It says something to the effect of FREE when you buy Worcestershire sauce. - HUH? What's free, the sauce or another product?

It doesn't say - buy one get one free. Or free 12 oz when you buy 16 oz...just free when you buy Worcestershire sauce. (or something similar as I don't have it on me at this moment) And if you buy one...then use your coupon...then it should work right?

I'm thinking that Frenches was trying to confuse us 'coupon clippers' into purchasing 2 instead of 1. But have no fear, Mrs. Heath is here!

It's being reported in the coupon blogging world that the coupon mearly means you get it for free. No other purchases necessary. It's also being reported that Publix is honoring this (in case you fear someone else like Walmart might speculate over the wording).

To all my friends out there in the blogging world, I wanted to tell you of a deal that has come up a number of times lately. Some of you are fairly new to this "coupon world" so this will be the first time you will have the opportunity to stock up.

Dimetapp is on sale at Walgreens for $3.99 each - That price alone is a good deal.

If you purchase 3 dimetapp at $3.99 each, you'll get $10 RR back!

Let's do the math - $3.99 x 3 = 11.97!! Now you pay $11.97 out of pocket and get $10.00 back! So it's like you just paid $1.97 for 3 bottles of cough syrup - which USUALLY retail at $7+ per bottle!! This is an amazing deal.

But wait...it gets even sweeter!

Go to Dimetapp's website and print out a $2.00 off any Dimetapp product coupon. If you print 1 coupon, Walgreens will PAY YOU $0.03!! Print 2 coupons and Walgreens will pay you $2.03 BUT if you print 3 - yes 3 coupons (one for each item) Walgreens will pay you $4.03 to take them off their hands.

So here is how you do it.

1. Go to Dimetapp and register to print one coupon. You must register for EACH coupon you print. No "double" printing on this coupon as each coupon has it's own security code. Then do it two more times!

Tonight was all about Miss Toby cat.  Believe it or not, Toby goes though a bag of treats every 7 - 10 days.  I had a GREAT cashier tonight who was VERY helpful!  So I had a GREAT night.  As strange as this sounds, I was a bit surprised at my total.  I thought it would be less.  Oh well...I can't complain! 

Side Note:  I'm not going to do a breakdown of this as today was the last day of the sale - though my cashier said that Kmart is thinking of doing this on a monthly basis!  If that were true, I'd become a regular Kmart shopper!

Double Coupons at K-Mart

After Walgreens, Lindsay and I headed over to K-Mart to see what the whole double coupon thing was all about.  Down here in Florida the concept of "double coupons" is unheard of.  No store in Jacksonville does it, so I wasn't really sure what to expect or how it even worked.  So Lindsay and I headed over with only 30 minutes to really do some shopping and ran around like mad women trying to get all the deals we could in the few minutes we had.  

All in all, I think it turned out pretty good.  Our cashier was 100% annoyed with our coupons and didn't seem to know what to do when one of them wouldn't work.  Eventually we got everything worked out and left a few minutes later than we originally intended.  The deals were so good though, that later tonight, while Ben was at a church meeting, I headed out for a second run - to take my time and really hunt the deals down.

CVS With Lindsay!!

Tonight, a friend from church, Lindsay came over and we talked "coupons." Lindsay is new to coupons and was really excited to learn the tricks of the trade. So she came over to chat and then we went shopping.

Over all, it was a money maker night! Except I have to appologize to Lindsay as it could have been even BETTER but I was completely thrown off by the toothpaste from the first transaction!! I can't believe it! Because I was thrown off I then FORGOT to use one of my coupons, but I think she remembered for her transactions!

Lindsay - go back to CVS (any cvs) and get another tube of toothpaste - the ones on sale for 2/$5 - then get a candy bar (or something that equals $0.50) - You'll ring up for $3.00 + tax. Use your $2.99 ECB from the vitamins and you'll pay a few pennies in tax. THEN you'll get $2.00 ECB BACK! Had I realized my mistake while we were there I would have done it RIGHT then!! I'm so sorry!! The reason you are going to do this is because the toothpaste is on sale 2/$5 - and then you get $2.00 back. Well we bought 3 tubes. Which means we are one short from an even 4!! AAAAHHH!!

What a way to teach someone what NOT to do during their first money saving trip! Let's go again sometime and I promise we'll do EVEN better! Though overall, how can we really complain when we MADE money!!
