What can this blog offer me?

I've been thinking a lot lately about what exactly I want this particular blog to be/do. What it's true purpose will be. There are a TON of amazing websites that already do all the work for me, so we sure don't need another person thinking they can do better (when they can't) and creating the wheel again.

So then what? Create a blog to brag about what I'm snagging for myself? No thanks. In all reality, I created this blog for two reason.

#1 - To help me track my own purchases. To answer the question that's been nagging at the back of my mind since I started - How much am I actually saving by doing all this thrifty shopping? Is it really worth it? Sure I have an entire room full of stuff that will get Ben and I through what we expect to be a tight year next year and lots of great last minute gifts but is it really worth the effort? At the end of the day, I know what I spent on INDIVIDUAL transactions but how much did I actually spend total and did I actually get stuff that I can USE?

#2 - To help out friends/family/neighbors who are as busy as me and just beginning. I'm all about saving myself time and effort and know that others are too! So this is my plan on how to satisfy #1 and #2.

Each week, I'll post my deals with pictures if possible. I love when others post pictures because it helps me when I'm in the store (I'm a visual girl). That way I know exactly what I'm looking for without having to READ every bottle. I don't think I'll continue with the scenario's but just with the actual purchases. That way you and I both know what ACTUALLY worked at my local stores. Then if you feel so inclined, print off what I've done and take it to the store (knowing exactly how much you'll spend out of pocket (oop) and what you'll actually get) and do your shopping - adjusting as needed.

Many of my friends/family/neighbors are new to this and very interested. I've also had a few CVS cashiers ask me how I do it. (it's a whole new world when they know who you are) and don't have the time to hunt the various blogs for the best deals. I'll try to post the "good stuff" and hidden deals I know about so that all might be able to take advantage as well!

Feel free to make suggestions, share your deals or ask questions! If you have a question, I'm sure others do too! Also if you find a great deal or mistake (yikes) let me know!

Happy Shopping!
Mrs. Heath
